How to use the converter

  1. Select the checkbox and enter the cake pan height.
  2. Choose the shape of the pan you are converting from and the shape of the pan you are converting to (round, square/rectangle).
  3. Enter the size of the baking pan your recipe calls for and the desired pan dimensions.
  4. Click Calculate the conversion factor auto-calculates ingredient quantities for you.
  5. To scale the recipe, multiply the quantity of ingredients from the original recipe using this conversion factor.
  6. To approximate the recipe so you have something easier to work with, round the quantities of ingredients up or down.
  7. Be sure to convert the measurements to inches or centimeters for consistency. If you mix them, the conversion factor won't work.
  8. Optional: Use the additional part of the calculator by copying and pasting the original recipe ingredients for a new recalculated recipe to use in the future.
